Challenge 1: How does globalisation challenge us as professionals in education?
First of all, we have exposed (individually) different items that we consider as the three biggest challenges in the world today. So, we have talked about hunger, global warming, war, human rights, racism, vandalism, education, corruption and so on.
After sharing our thoughths, we have reached an agreement. We have decided to focus on the human rights, specially the violation of them, the global warming and to conclude, the war.
-Challenge 1: The violation of human rights
As human rights we would like to mention the "Millenium goals": End poverty and hunger, universal education, gender equality, child health, maternal health, combat HIV/AIDS, environmental sustainability and global parthership.
As future teachers, we must show children how important the human rights are. They should know their own rights in order to live with dignity and justice.
-Challenge 2: The havoc caused by war
The war is a constant problem that we shouldn't be passive to this serious topic that's why day after day it causes a huge number of deaths. The war's causes could be numerous (political, economical, religious, etc.)
In reference of teaching that controversial item. We have to create awareness and educate children to solve their own problems without violence. We must face up problems by talking, for example.
-Challenge 3: The global warming
We can not deny that the climate is fastly changing cause our irresponsible actions. As a result, we have to teach children about the importance of taking care of the environment. On top of that, we should show how can we protect the environment (recycling, renewable energy resources, etc.)
